In the next installment of my "Don't Believe The Hype" series, I'm addressing Facebook ads. There are countless online courses, webinars, videos, lessons, books, and more that promise to teach you how to "optimize" your Facebook ads so you can start selling and making millions.
The reality is that the only people truly profiting from Facebook ads are those selling these courses and Facebook itself. Trust me, if you go the DIY route, you will likely lose a lot of money before seeing any return on your investment.
I invested in a course that provided valuable insights into how Facebook ads operate and how to create my own. It was a great way to learn about copywriting and the ad creation process. However, I ended up losing a significant amount of money. While I did manage to grow my email list as a result of the ads, I haven't seen any return from that growth, leaving me uncertain about whether it was truly beneficial.
Does that mean you should forget about marketing?
Absolutely not! I would just suggest you actually invest in a firm that will actually help you market and use Facebook ads if you choose to go that route. It will cost a lot hence why a lot of small business owners want to go the DIY route but you are more likely to see better ROI (return on investment) than just creating your own Facebook Ads.
I unfortunately do not have any recommendations for businesses. I have searched but haven't been successful in finding a reputable firm for marketing for small businesses.
Let me know if you've had any real success with Facebook Ads.
